Latvia - Grey peas with bacon and fried onions

This dish was an excellent dish that took about 10 minutes to make, although I must be honest and say that I used chickpeas instead of grey peas because I couldn't find any. I am however really curious to find out what they taste like and I will be keeping me eyes open for them! The dish (with the grey peas) is Latvia's national dish and would never be missing from the Christmas table!
